Long after slavery had been abolished, the cuts carved by years of oppression still run deep in the African American community. They may be free from bondage to white colonial masters, but they are still shackled to their statuses as second-class citizens. 

 

However, by the late 1950s, the winds of change have begun to blow. There is no stopping them - they want all of their rights, they want them here, and they want them now.

This is the story of the Civil Rights Movement.
